We are Christmas obsessed here and I know it’s only October but we are already planning for the festive season and are all super excited. I’m starting to plan on getting the house ready for Christmas. I came across a site called Cox and Cox and they have an amazing Christmas collection which has helped majorly with planning for the style I want for the Christmas season.
The first thing I plan is Advent as we have an Advent breakfast on December the 1st where the little ones get their calendars and a little letter from Santa. I like to dress the table up with Christmas tableware and prepare a really special Christmas themed breakfast.
I have been looking for a really special Advent calendar and think I have found the perfect Advent boxes here that I can fill them with little gifts each day for the little ones to open , this is a bit more exciting than a chocolate calendar.
Our new house has a fireplace which I cant wait to dress for Christmas , there are so many gorgeous wreaths and garlands on the Cox and Cox site to use for this. I’m looking forward to giving the lounge that cosy feel.
I always find giving the whole house a major clean before Christmas refreshing. I like to have a clear out of toys and other bits that we don’t use and just give the place a good spruce up. We have the majority of our visitors over Christmas so it’s the ideal time to have a sort out. The cushions and scatter blankets are all changed to Christmas themed ones too as early on in September as possible.
The little ones will be old enough this year to understand the magic of Christmas so I want to make it as memorable as possible for them. Those early Christmas memories I have really are the best. I want to dress the outside of the house with some lights and also a stand alone light up decoration. This stag silhouette is just perfect for the front door and I know the ankle biters will love it.
There is so much to prepare in the run up to the festive season , hence me starting now. Is there anything you do to prepare your home for Christmas ? I would love to hear how others do this.
