Since I’ve started work as a blogger the majority of my time is spent working from home unless I get invited to any events then it’s mostly at home in my comfy clothes either on my phone or laptop. Obviously blogging and social media/ computer or laptop work go hand in hand and I spend a lot of time working on my phone or the computer.
I do worry about the effect this is having on my eye health when it comes to staring at a screen a lot and the blue light that can be hazardous for eyes. Most of the blue light is emitted from smart phones , tablet and computers than from any other light source. It can lead to eye strain and eye disease.
Too much blue light exposure can interfere with our sleep and wake patterns particularly if we’re exposed to blue light sources at night time. Blue light exposure can also cause digital eye strain and eye fatigue, which can lead to blurry vision, difficulty focusing, dry and irritated eyes, headaches, fatigue, neck and back pain.
Lately I have been suffering from some of these symptoms on a regular basis and I’m starting to wonder if it’s the exposure to blue light and the heavy work load I have had over the past few weeks. I’ve started to do a lot of research in to this and also see what I can do to prevent these and any further symptoms. I have been getting some pretty severe headaches.
I came across Ocushield they produce and sell a range of blue light screen protector products. They sell protectors for most devices including iPhone , tablets and computers. They even sell anti blue light glasses.
Ocushield fits easily on to your smartphone, tablet or computer. It cuts out blue light transmittance, letting through the non-harmful light. The picture is as clear as it should be, you wouldn’t even know it’s there.
Ocushield also protects your screen from cracks and scratches. This sounds perfect for anyone using screens a lot and if you are worried about eye protection / care or like myself are suffering from symptoms.
I will be looking in to the product range and seeing what is best suited to me but I think the glasses sound great.
