With the amazing summer we are having we have been in and out of the water loads to cool off. The little ones love a splash pad park and it keeps them cool , entertained for hours and tires them out.

Pontypridd lido – charge applies 

This is such a fab park and Lido. They have a huge play park which is all sand and totally free to use. My two took their buckets and spades and had a fab time here. The Lido is also fab but you do need to book in advance as it books up really quickly. There is also Ponty park to have a wander and picnic too.

Cyfathra castle , Merthyr splash pad – FREE 

We love it here the castle is so pretty and it’s a lovely walk to the splash pad at the top. There is also a play park and a cafe situated here too which is really handy. The splash pad is quite big with plenty to keep them entertained.

Abercynon war memorial pool – FREE 

This pool is open for 5 weeks over the summer , such a lovely outdoor pool and is totally free.

Victoria park , Cardiff splash pad – FREE 

This brings back so many childhood memories I used to spend hours here with my Nan when it was a pool. They now have a huge splash pad with so much to keep the little ones entertained and a nice cafe for lunch and coffees too.

Morgan Jones park Caerphilly , splash pad – FREE 

This is open all summer , 7 days a week – not far from the castle so loads to explore around it and take a picnic too.

Aberafon beach , nr Port Talbot splash pad – FREE 

This looks amazing you have Aberafon beach to explore and the splash pad just off the beach to play in. There are some fairground rides , fish and chips and ice cream to make this a fun seaside day out.

Cheeky Monkeys ,Cwmbran – charge applies 

There is a fantastic little pool for the little ones outdoors. There is a sandpit , sprinklers and play park too. You can also grab some lunch from the cafe inside.

Pencoedtre splash park , Barry – FREE 

There is a lovely little splash pad here and a play area also a basketball 5 aside court if you have older ones too. Totally free and open 7 days a week too.

Cardiff Bay Capital FM pop up beach and splash pad – FREE 

The Capital FM beach is situated near the Cardiff Bay barrage this year so is a fair walk over from the main square. There is a land train that takes you over from the start of the barrage walk and it’s free. There is a large funfair , food stalls , live music and a beach shop.

The sand area is fab and all fenced off on one side , there are beach huts and deck chairs which are free to use. Perfect for the hot days as you can chill next to the huts which are shady. There is also a splash pad which the little ones love. The best part about it all is that there is no charge.
