So it’s that time again , Easter holidays and two weeks off to keep the little ones entertained! I have found some free and low-cost activities in and around Pontypool – if you know of any more than the ones mentioned here please message me.

Easter egg hunt Llandegfedd Reservoir – Saturday 13th  and Sunday 14th April and Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st April.

Free Easter Egg Hunt this Easter Holiday at Llandegfedd Reservoir.  Collect your map from the Visitor Centre and go on a Hunt for Wooden Egg’s hidden around the site. Crack the cryptic riddle’s and return to the Visitor Centre to collect your Easter Egg. The walk is suitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs but does include small gradients. Easter trail Big PitSaturday April 13th. 

Follow the clues around Big Pit to find the special Easter eggs with letters on to make a word. Solve the puzzle and get a prize!  £1 per child. Pick up a sheet and your prize from the Playlab.

Easter holiday activities Blaenavon Heritage CentreWednesday 17th April – Thursday 25th April 11am-4pm. 

Activities to keep all the family occupied this Easter.
~ Easter Craft Workshops 16th & 17th and 23rd & 24th April (£1 each per craft activity).
~ Story & Craft in Library Thursday 18th & 25th April at 2.30pm. Free entry, pre-booking required.
~ Easter Egg Hunt every day – £1 entry.

Crafts and face painting Big PitWednesday 17th April 11am and Friday 19th April 11am 

A chance to make some Easter themed crafts and have your face-painted!
£2 per child.

Easter Eggstravaganza Cwmbran centreMonday 15th – Friday 19th April 11am-4pm 

Each day there will be an Easter station where your little ones can pick up their trail sheets. Once they have this, they will embark on an adventure around the centre with the quest to find 6 eggs hidden in retailer windows. The trail map will be different each day so kids can take part more than once if they wish!

Once children have noted down where they found the eggs they can hand their trail sheets back to the Easter station in exchange for a yummy chocolate treat! There will also be colouring sheets and FREE face painting at the Easter station!

Easter Holiday Fun at Greenmeadow Community FarmSaturday 13th April – Sunday 28th April 10am-5pm 

10.00 – Farm Opens
10.30 – 12.30 Cuddle Corner – join some of our smaller animals and get the opportunity to hold them and enjoy the oxytocin rush!
11.00 – Goat Milking – come along to the Dairy and see one of our lovely goats being milked and learn lots of interesting facts about Goat’s Milk
11.30 – Bottle Feeding (£) – without doubt one of the most popular activities of the year! Help us to bottle feed our lambs (£- small fee applies, spaces limited)
12.00 – Egg Collecting – help us find today’s lays!

Vue Cinema mini morningsEvery day in the Easter holidays 

£2.49 for certain films in the mini mornng selection including – check you local Vue for details but the Cwbran Mini morning film is Mary Poppins at 10am , they are also showing the Goonies on Sunday 21st April at 4pm at Vue Cwmbran.

Easter Extravaganza PontypoolSaturday 20th April 10am-4pm 

Face painting , a chance to meet the characters , mad mels disco also indoor market craft activities with an Easter trail and treasure hunt. There will also be craft stalls.

There Was An Old Lady Who Swallowed A FlyWednesday April 17th 2.30-3pm 

The People’s Theatre Company bring one of the world’s best loved nursery rhymes to life just in time to celebrate the 45th anniversary of Pam Adams’ best selling book!

This magical show has been written especially for grown ups to enjoy with their children, so come and re-live the delights of this most charming of tales complete with a feast of sing-along songs, colourful animal characters and heart-warming family fun. £9.00 adults , £8.50 children.

Easter Egg Hunt & Trail Llanyrafon Manor-  Thursday 18th April – Saturday 20th April 10am 

Easter Egg hunt £3.50pp – Find the clues and collect the eggs, complete the Easter word and receive a chocolate egg or bunny.This is a TURN UP (not bookable) event.
It is popular so at our busy times you may have to wait until a bucket and clipboard are returned in. This is an outdoor activity – sensible shoes / wellies and please feel free to bring your own Easter basket (buckets are provided), costumes and Easter bonnets are very welcome. The trail will continue after Easter Sunday without the eggs and a reduced price to include a lolly at the end.

Easter fete All creatures great and small CwmbranFriday April 20th 12-5pm

On 20th April there will be an Easter Fete from 12pm – 5pm. There will be a variety of activities including
• Easter Egg Hunt
• Easter Bonnet Competition
• 5 Category Dog Show
• 2 ‘Meet the Animals’ tours
• Auction
• Feeding the Pigs
• Horse Walk Around Site
• Face painting
Plus lots more games, activities and plenty of refreshments. Dogs welcome.
