We were so pleased to be invited to see Disney on Ice at Cardiff Motorpoint arena. We were also invited along last year and it was incredible. I knew this year would be fabulous too and all I can say is wow it was just magical and we were all mesmerised. Myself , James and Archie and Frankie went to the show. We are very much a Disney family and I love that.
The show featured some of our favourites Toy story , The Little Mermaid , The Lion King , Snow White , Finding Nemo and Frozen. The little ones really got in to the spirit Frankie wore her Snow White outfit and Archie wore his Woody outfit. The magic started as soon as we walked in to the smell of warm popcorn and candy floss it was amazing.
There were loads of souvenir stalls too which were selling some fab merchandise. Archie and Frankie were instantly drawn to the snow cone filled cups. Frankie chose an Ariel cup and Archie chose an Olaf cup. The snow cones were priced between £9-£11 which was quite pricey but of course you got to keep the beautiful cups and spoons which were fab quality.
There were also food stands selling hot dogs , fries , snacks and drinks. This was really handy as my two are always hungry!
We took our seats and let the magic begin. The show starts with Mickey, Minnie, Goofy and Donald finding a treasure chest which gives us clues to the acts we can expect to see. Before each act the four of them come back on stage to give some clues as to who we will see next.
The first on stage was The Lion King. We were overwhelmed by the props and the costumes they were amazing. The little ones were totally mesmerised. Archie adores the The Lion King so was over the moon that they made an appearance. The skating was amazing and we were blown away with it.
Next up was Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs , and wow again the props and costumes were out of this world. We loved the seven dwarfs they were so cute. We loved how all of the acts were the same as the film as they recreated our favourite parts and brought them to life.
Next up was time for Aladdin which was so much fun and so fitting as we are really looking forward to the live action film coming out soon ! The genie was great and so funny , the little ones especially liked the elephant which was incredible.
We were then so excited to see scenes from The Little Mermaid and Tangled , it was also a lovely treat to see all of the Disney princesses make an appearance. Frankie was in her element , the princess dresses were so pretty. Next up was Toy Story , Archie absolutely loved the toy soldiers and seeing the most fabulous trio – Jessie , Woody and Buzz.
Archie and Frankie were excited to see two of their favourtes Nemo and Dory next , their costumes were amazing ! This was quite a short act but equally amazing as the others.
The finale was one of our all time favourites Frozen. Frankie was over the moon to see her favourite princesses. The props again and costumes were just incredible. We really enjoyed it and Olaf’s scene was the little ones favourites. Frankie and I sang along for the whole act quite loudly !
The whole show really was out of this world and I would recommend this to all ages young and old. If you want to go along and witness the magic the show is on at the Motorpoint in Cardiff until Sunday 29th April.
