When it comes to renovating your home, one of the most important things to consider is how bright it is. For those that love a bright and airy feel to their home, there are lots of different things you can do to give your home that fresh feel. Of course there are times when we are on a budget and want a quick refresh without it costing the earth. Here are some ways we can do this –

Pretty flowers

One of the best ways to brighten up your home is to bring the outside in with incredible flowers and plants. Whether that means growing your own or buying them in, having plants dotted around your home is a great way to boost the overall mood in the house.

A lick of paint

One of the easiest ways to brighten up your home is to consider changing the colours of your walls. If all of your rooms have naturally dark colours, your house is going to start feeling as though it is much darker, no matter how much light you’re letting in. If you’re looking for neutral but bright, consider using light greys, whites and creams as a base for your walls.

Changing the carpets to wood flooring

This can really change the look of your home and brighten it up loads. I always think a wood floor makes the room look bigger, light and airy. It doesn’t have to cost a fortune either as you can get some really good deals on cheap laminate flooring.

Change the lighting

When it comes to the things you have control over in your home, lighting is probably one of the easiest things to change. If you’re looking to brighten up your home and don’t have a high budget, changing the lighting in your home could be an easy fix.

Keep your home clean and tidy

Although it may not seem like it will make much difference, keeping your home clean and tidy is a great way to give it a brighter feeling. When it comes to cleaning, keeping everything nice and shiny will not only improve the cleanliness of your home, but it will make everything feel so much brighter.

These are just a few things you can do to brighten up your home – I would love to hear any other ideas you may have.
