I often dislike coat shopping as I want to stay warm but still want that glamorous edge. I always go for the same old khaki parka coat , with no style and edge whatsoever – the safe option.
I’ve been browsing online and have found some lovely coats that will keep me warm here in the Welsh valleys but also make me feel glam on a glum morning for the school run. There are a few different styles that I fancy.
The puffer style coat
I love these as they are very high fashion at the moment and come in so many lovely colours to brighten up those cold , dark mornings. I like the fact that they come in different lengths too.
They are also machine washable and when you have two messy pre schoolers this is a must. Styles with some knee high or ankle boots depending on the length these can look so stylish. I also find a large bucket bag can add a bit of glam to a coat too.

The classic wool blend coat.
When I was browsing I found that Lyst had some gorgeous wool blend coats. They are not as padded as some other coats but I find they are still warm for those colder days. You can either go for the classic plan black or there are so many brighter colours to choose from. I have come across this classic wool blend coat with a little bit of edge that I have fallen in love with.
This Michael Kors wool blend coat available at the outnet.com is just gorgeous and the added flowers give it such a pretty touch. Teamed with some suede Chelsea boots I think will look fabulous. It can also be dressed with a dress and knee highs for those winter dinners out.

The classic raincoat
It rains a lot here in wales so it is always good to have a classic raincoat that is waterproof and will keep you dry. This classic from Michael Kors available at Macys is perfect and comes in two different colours merlot or black. I think this is my favourite and I love the fact it is waterproof.

So there you have it my go to list to keep you warm but also glam at the same time. Whatever you go for make sure it is you and you feel comfortable in it. I see a coat as a big investment as you have to wear it every day and some days especially with a school run it is all people will see as you don’t take your coat off. Happy coat shopping !
