We were kindly invited to review Andrewshayes holiday park in Axminster Devon for five days. As you know we love a stay cation and have been lucky enough to visit loads of lovely holiday parks over the past few years.

Andrewshayes holiday park is a family run park , this award winning park has been developed over the past 60 years by the Lawrence family who are still onsite on a daily basis. They are graded a four pennant park by the AA, holders of a Gold David Bellamy Award and a finalist in the Devon Tourism Awards in 2016 and 2018.

They offer a full range of luxury self catering holiday homes for hire or sale -including some with hot tubs as well as camping pitches for touring caravans, motor homes, tents and glamping pods. They have also recently added the Orchard Retreat. Which will have 10 luxury holiday caravans some with hot tub in a private part of the park.

We stayed in a Beech 2 bedroom holiday home , which is a luxury 12ft wide model with double glazing and central heating. The caravan can sleep 2-6 people. It had a family bathroom with toilet and shower and also the main bedroom had an en suite with shower and toilet.

The park has a heated indoor swimming pool ,a bar with evening entertainment in the summer holidays, cafe , amusement arcade with soft play , a play park and shop. There is plenty to keep you entertained during you stay.

The caravan

The caravan was honestly fab and kitted out with new fixtures and fittings. We had the two bedroom with en suite. The caravan comes with bed linen , you did have to make up your own beds as the bedding was left for you. Towels are not provided so you need to bring your own.

The bedrooms were comfy and well equipped with storage space for us – the main bedroom had a full size wardrobe with shelves and 2 large drawers which was fab for us. There was also a small dressing table area which I thought was a great touch. The smaller twin room had a full size single wardrobe with a shelf at the top. The beds were comfy as were the pillows , I loved that they had carpet too as this would make it cosy in the colder months.

The lounge and kitchen area was great , I loved the huge corner sofa as it meant there was plenty of room to chill. The dining area also had a lovely dining area. There was a full size TV with free view channels which was great for movie nights and CITV in the morning.

The kitchen had everything you would have at home and a large fridge freezer. This made it easy when cooking meals and preparing breakfast , I was very impressed with how fast the oven was. There was also a cupboard in the kitchen with a Hoover , dustpan and brush and mop and bucket which was really handy.

The shower room was great for us , it had a good size shower with a glass door. There was also a toilet and a mirror with a cabinet for your toiletries. We also had an en suite in the main bedroom complete with sink , mirror and toilet. This was so handy as the little ones always want to use the toilet when you do or their siblings do!

There were patio doors in the lounge area that took you out to a decking area with a table and chairs , perfect for AL fresco dining in the summer months. My two loved playing with their toys on the decking , it was also handy to dry various beach bits.

Heating and electric are included in the price , you can also buy WiFi access. Overall the static was perfect for us and I was really impressed with the facilities.

We had a little visitor at the caravan most days which the little ones loved.

The pool

The pool was great and it was heated which meant it was just the right temperature. It was a large pool with plenty of sun loungers and chairs around the pool to relax. Yes There was also a shower and changing area. The children had hours of fun here and couldn’t wait to go back each day.

The surrounding area

There was so much to do in the surrounding area , the park is situated 3 miles from the small town of Axminster.

Lyme Regis

The park was also close to Lyme Regis which was a beautiful seaside town with so much to do , we spent most of our time here. There is a pebble beach and also a sandy beach to enjoy , an arcade with games and 2p machines and also mini golf. You can also go on guided fossil walks too which is great for the little ones.

They have a huge variety of restaurants and take away vans along the front too. We enjoyed many meals here the Lyme Regis fish and chip company was amazing and we also had a lovely wood fired pizza from Poco pizza.

We also visited Seaton and had a lovely walk along the beach and explored the area. We had a lovely roast dinner as it was a Sunday at The Malt House. Seafield gardens in Seaton were just beautiful with all of the flower patches and wild flowers. There was also a fab play park here and crazy gold which we really enjoyed.

The Donkey Sanctuary and Sidmouth

The Donkey sanctuary was such an amazing place , we loved looking around and meeting all of the donkeys. There was also a great cafe there and we had a lovely lunch. Entry to the sanctuary was free which is amazing. Afterwards we headed to Sidmouth town which was full of gorgeous little shops to wander.

Millers farm shop

This was a beautiful farm shop just a few miles up the road from Andrewshayes holiday park. They had all you wanted to cook lovely meals back at the caravan or things for a BBQ / picnic. We visited a few times and got bits for dinner and a BBQ. There was so much fresh produce it was great and recommend a visit. They also have a cafe here too.

As you can see there is plenty to do in the local area and we only just scratched the surface. We will definitely visit again as there was so much to do and it’s such a lovely part of the UK. Andrewshayes was just perfect for us and allowed us to create so many treasured memories.

*We were gifted a five night stay for the purpose of this review , all thoughts and opinions are my own.
