We were so excited to be asked to go and review a four night stay at Bluestone from Monday to Friday.

Bluestone is nestled in the stunning national park. The resort had a variety of accommodation that catered for all. This included lodges , cottages and studio lodges. There was a village centre which had an array of restaurants , shops , a village hall outdoor play area and a lake.

There are various nature trails for walks and adventures. There is also the blue lagoon water park and the adventure centre with soft play.  Plenty of activities are also available for children including messy play , shows and much more. The well being spa is perfect for any mummies or daddies wanting to relax.

We stayed in a Gateholm Lodge on Preselli View which was a two story detached lodge with upside down living. It had three bedrooms and slept up to six persons. The double room was en suite with a bath and shower , we then had a separate bathroom with a shower. There were also two twin bedrooms. There was a travel cot provided too and there were also baby gates at the top and bottom of the stairs. Bluestone really do cater for the little ones so well.

On the first evening we went for a walk to the village which is just beautiful. The village is so well equipped and includes a fab coffee shop and park. Ty Coffi is lovely little coffee shop selling a wide variety of homemade cakes , light bites and drinks. It was perfect to grab a coffee , some drinks for the little ones and some cakes and then head to the park. Archie and Frankie loved the park , it was great as there was so much to play with , there is also a smaller park for under 5s which is fab if you have much smaller children.

Some of the beautiful cottages

The village also has a number of restaurants and a pub which is great if you fancy dining out or heading to the pub to join in with the pub quiz. The village shop is jam packed with essentials for your time at Bluestone – including ingredients to cook meals back at the lodge , allergy free foods , a selection of newspapers , magazines and DVD’s to buy. They also have an off licence section for that gin or glass of wine to enjoy whilst relaxing at night.

On the first night we decided to chill at the lodge and cook a meal , the kitchen was fully stocked with all of the essentials you need to prepare and cook a meal. There is also a dishwasher which is so handy , I’m so used to hand washing dishes at home so this was a total luxury  just what you need when you are on holiday. There is a handy starter pack that contains a cloth , sponge and two dishwasher tablets – washing up liquid is also provided.

There is so much going on around the resort for all of the family. These include the action-filled Steep Ravine, paddling on the lake and exploring over 100 indoor and outdoor activities.

The lake

There are also loads of activities for the little ones including dinner shows , a shindig at camp smokey, Woody wild shows and live music. There is also Camp Smokey which is an outdoor forest restaurant and is the perfect way to enjoy some great BBQ dishes and to watch friends and family flying overhead on zip wires. The chippy van is also great for those busy days when you don’t feel like cooking or getting ready to eat out. We tried this out one of the nights and it was just delicious.

The adventure centre is absolutely amazing for the little ones The resort itself is just fantastic and the facilities for little ones are out of this world. They have the Tree Top restaurant which was magical and great for a drink and bite to eat. They have a full soft play section which is great for the little ones to let off some steam this includes a bouncy castle too. There is also the circus room , this was fantastic and more suitable play area for the smaller ones.

The blue lagoon was one of the big highlights of out trip and makes for hours of fun , it is so impressive. There is a main pool , a small toddler pool with fountains and a shallow play area with hula hoops , balls , inflatables and much more to keep the little ones and big ones entertained.

They also have a series of slides and some of these link up to the outside too. Archie and Frankie loved the wave machine and water sprays in the main pool , the water was so lovely and warm. We also headed in to the lazy river and ventured outside , even though the weather wasn’t too warm it was lovely and toasty. There is also have a cafe situated at the blue lagoon.

If you are looking for an easier way to get around the resort you could always hire a buggy or bike. They also have a land train which you can use to explore the resort.

There is also so much fun to be had off resort too in the nearby areas , we visited Tenby town and beach. It is such a beautiful town to wander and the beaches are superb. Folly Farm is also really close by and such a good day out for all of the family.

*We were given a complimentary stay for four days in return for this honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
