Acer Chromebook review

I was kindly sent the Acer CB3-431 14 ” Chromebook from AO. This is fab as I need a back up to my regular laptop but also something lighter that I can take out and about. I sometimes need to get out of the house when working from home but my regular laptop is quit bulky and heavy. The Acer really is lighter and thinner so it’s much easier to take out and about.

The delivery from AO is fantastic. The laptop arrived when it said it would. I was also given a two-hour time slot and text messages to keep me informed on it’s delivery. The item was packaged well and not damaged at all.

Key Features:

  • A super quick start up
  • Google powered laptop
  • Built-in antivirus
  • Access to many apps
  • 10 hours battery life
  • 100GB of online storage included for free
  • Intel® Celeron® processor with 2GB of RAM

I love the gold colour as it adds a bit of style to the laptop. The Chromebook runs Google OS instead of windows. This allows you to download and use a wide range of Android apps from the play store. You can even download Microsoft office to use on the laptop which is fab for anyone working from home, students etc.

As I mentioned before the laptop is a fab weight at just 1.5kg , and if you are on the go the 10 hour battery life is so handy. I put this to the test and it really does have 10 hours. It was great to not to be grabbing a charger all the time and having the battery run out.

At the time of writing, when i logged into my Google account for the first time, i was gifted a very handy 100GB of cloud storage for free. I love this as I have so many photos and it’s been great to free up some space on my phone.

Summary:

Overall I am impressed with this laptop and it was something i had never considered buying before. The fact that it was not windows had previously put me off. Now I have a Chromebook no windows is not an issue or something I take a second thought about. The only negative point I have is the location of the search button next to the “a” key – as I kept knocking it by accident.

I think it would make a great gift for a loved one over Christmas as the price doesn’t break the bank either , it’s currently on offer for £159.00.

* I was sent the Acer Chromebook free of charge for the purpose of this review , all thoughts and opinions are my own.
