We love Christmas , in fact we are a bit Christmas mad and always tend to go overboard. I also love the lead up to Christmas and advent. Our naughty elves bring the advent calender’s for the little ones an they love it. Mummy and Daddy are also partial to an advent calendar too. We have been sent some lovely ones by a few brands this year so I thought I would write about them and give you a sneak peak. There is something for all tastes here young or old.

Nerds advent calendar 

This is fab and I love the retro feel! Nerds certainly remind me of my childhood ! I used to love getting a box on a Saturday. The Nerds calendar features a fun size box of Nerds every day in the run up to Christmas , you may get one of the following –

The big chilli advent calendar 

If you anything like us and love chilli then you will love this! The big chilli advent calendar contains 25 whole chilli powders or flakes. As well as the 25 chillies, you’ll also receive a booklet of tasting notes and over 20 recipes. The Chilli has a minimum best before date of Feb 2019 so you don’t have to use them right away. I think this is such a fab alternative advent calendar. The Real Advent Calendar from Traidcraft 

The Real Advent Calendar is a fantastic way for parents, grandparents etc to share the Christmas story. The 2018 calendar comes with a 24-page Christmas story activity book designed to be used every day in Advent. I love this as it’s not just about the chocolate there is something to learn and also an activity to do.

Behind each window there’s a line from the Christmas story with a colourful matching picture. All 25 chocolates Fair trade blend  chocolate with 35% cocoa, are palm free. With each purchase of the calendar there’s a charitable donation. This calendar is reasonably priced at £3.99. Threaders Fabrikit – Advent Calendar by Crafters companion 

I love this alternative from Crafters companion it’s ideal for beginners and craft lovers !  . The pattern has the cutest little characters and all you need to do is cut and stitch! This also makes such a good gift , to give as it is or to give to someone once you have made it. You can fill the pockets with little gifts or chocolates. This is priced at £14.99.

Cadbury’s advent calender’s 

We were sent two lovely calender’s from Cadbury’s , the classic dairy milk one which I think is fab for all ages , this comes with little advent chocolate shapes it’s priced at around £2.19. Alongside the dairy milk one we were sent the dairy milk advent calendar premier league. This is s a special addition for the premier league with chocolate chunks which are bigger than the standard dairy milk calendar.  Both are fab for both adults and children alike it’s priced around £4.99.

Yankee candle advent calendar 

The Yankee Candle Advent Calendar is fab for Yankee and candle fans. It contains 24 festive scented tea lights, each providing up to 6 hours of festive fragrance. This makes a fantastic gift to for anyone with November / December birthdays.
