We recently visited Pembrokeshire and were kindly gifted some tickets to visit Folly Farm. Folly Farm is situated in Kilgetty Pembrokeshire and it is so much more than just a farm. They are in fact a farm , zoo , fairground and play centre all rolled in to one. There is so much to do come rain or shine as a lot of Folly Farm is under cover too. We had such a fun day and spent around five hours at the park , we made sure we tried all areas so I could report back to you guys.
There is so much to tell you about I’m going to split the post in to sections –
The Farm section is so lovely and they have a huge variety of farm animals for everyone to enjoy. There were giant bunnies , guinea pigs , sheep , goat , donkeys , horses , chickens and much more. There was also a timetable of activities which included meet a guinea pig , meet a rabbit , milk a goat and much more – Frankie was lucky enough to milk a goat. This area was fab and the little ones really enjoyed it.
The Zoo is incredible and there are so many animals from Lions , giraffes , penguins and even flamingos. We were treated to one the lions coming to play , he was jumping up at the glass between us and him jesting us to play , he stayed and looked at us for a while then walked around and came back and did the same.
It was so amazing to be that close to a Lion and we were so grateful for that as it was all the little ones talked about. The Giraffe talk was also fab we got to be up close and personal with one of the giraffes and watch them being fed. The talk was so informative and we learnt so much , Frankie’s favourite animal so she was over the moon.
There is so much for all to see within the zoo and such a great variety of animals , the meerkats were a personal highlight for me , they are so inquisitive and funny.
The play centre / outdoor parks
The play centre is huge and has a soft play area for bigger ones and also one for under 4’s. There are also tables etc for you to sit and watch and grab a coffee , we had the best hot chocolate whilst we watched the little ones having a fab time and running off some steam.
There are also many outdoor parks dotted around the park , the pirate ship park is fab and the little ones favourites. There is a huge pirate ship with slides for them to explore and loads of planks to walk. There was also a sand pit park with mini diggers for the little ones to play with and dig up the sand. There are a variety of outdoor fairground rides too and some go karts which we all had a go in and really enjoyed.
The fairground is amazing , as soon as you walk in you can smell the candy floss and warm popcorn. There was an array of fairground machine games , hook a duck etc and the little ones just loved it. There is also a huge selection of old-fashioned fairground rides and a ghost train. The carousel was a huge hit with Frankie , she loved riding on it. They also loved the hook a duck and were over the moon with the bubbles they won. The 2p machines were also very popular , they love these. This is such a fab extra to the farm/zoo and if you are stuck in the rain too.

Last but by no means least was the gift shop it was amazing and stocked to the bring with loads of lovely gifts to remind you of your time at Folly Farm. Archie and Frankie chose a cuddly toy each , they each chose their favourite animal that day.
We had such a good day at Folly Farm and i can thoroughly recommend this for a fantastic family day out , we can’t wait to go back.
